Women in Social Media

If you are a female with a voice looking to be heard, dabbling in social media may assist tuning that voice. According to Mashable‘s latest post, “Women have firmly established their presence on the social web, and account for the majority of users on many popular social media sites.” It’s an “opportunity” for females to not just be heard, but to make a change, a difference, an impact. I, for one, would like to be one of those women.

And for those looking for inspiration, here is one I know personally, and admire for how she came from Erie, PA to Boston, MA to NY, NY and went from a girl looking for her way, to a woman who is paving the way for others to follow and learn from. She is a social media role model for females, and I am pleased to introduce, Julia Roy.

  1. I wish the war of the sexes would end soon. I’m looking forward to the day when we are all valued as equals. I’m happy and proud of Julia and I bet she would have done just as well if she were a man. It’s not about gender – its about talent – she’s got it so she does well.

    Thanks for this post, Joe.
